Over a dozen Woman Lake yard signs promoting the rock arch rapids (RAR) petition drive were stolen over this past Labor Day weekend. All signs posted between Lantern Bay Lane and Saw Mill Road on County Road 5 were removed. In addition, several signs south of Longville on Highway 84 were also stolen.
“Someone apparently does not want people’s voices to be heard on this issue,” said Jeff Davis, a member of the Woman Lake Action team. “We remain committed to advocating for an independent review of the RAR project, regardless of those who are trying to silence our voices.”
Davis said he was unaware if signs might have also been removed for locations other than those on County Road 5 and Highway 84. While that project team is currently out-of-stock on signs, they may decide to order more if there’s enough of an interest expressed by members of the community.
