On July 31, Representatives Matt Bliss (District 2B), Ben Davis (District 6A), and Senator Steve Green (District 2) visited Longville to examine unusually low water levels on the Woman Lake chain. The tour was organized by a group of concerned lake residents investigating whether the Boy River Rock Arch Rapids (RAR), completed in November 2025, may be contributing to lake levels beyond what would be expected from the current drought.
Approximately 20 residents participated in visits to the Boy River, the new RAR at the Girl Lake outlet, and the Longville Campground. Residents compared current conditions with photos from the 2022 drought, noting that river outflow today is substantially greater despite lower lake levels. They also highlighted reduced boat access, exposed shoreline, and an estimated 20 to 24-inch difference between the current lake level and the Ordinary High-Water Level (OHWL).
Following the tour, the group met at Longville City Hall to review additional photos and videos documenting low inflows and the impacts on residents, businesses, and recreation.
